My Surgery Went Well

Then my plastic surgeon went to work. She removed that awful tissue expander and put in a nice squishy implant and a nipple. Then she did a "lift" of my right breast where I had a reduction when I had my left mastectomy.
I'm still all wrapped up, so I haven't see the outcome yet. She did warn me that the nipple will be large, but that it will shrink. Not sure what to expect.
Feeling pretty good, but I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the drugs. Last night my right breast a little sore and today my belly button is sore. Nothing unbearable. I actually slept pretty good last night. Just glad that's over.
I still have to have my cystoscopy on December 20. Hopefully, that will be it and I can start 2011 semi back to normal. Hugs, Jean

and that you are home and hopefully resting comfortably. Take time to rest, relax, watch some good corny old movies, read a great book, listen to music--whatever your heart desires. You deserve some nice TLC.

so glad all went well yesterday. It's amazing how surgeons can do things these days. Who knew your belly button would be a useful site! I hope you continue to heal. How long will you have to be bandaged before you can see the results. Girl, you're going to be perky :-)

Sounds like some serious progress Jean! I'm on the four week countdown to having my expanders removed and implants put in. I'm no scheduled for nipples, hmmm... sure would be nice to have that done at the same time.
So nice to hear you are doing well. Funny, I keep saying the same thing - 2011 will be a new year with the hopes of returning to semi-normal!!!
