so today was frank sinatra friday in my radiation room! brought one of my favorite cd of his songs - it was hard not to jump off the table and dance!!!

this week i baked an apple pie for my rads team. my signature on my pies is that instead of slits in the crust, i actually make a smiley face. and today was a good day for smiling ; )

    Good for you Heidi!
I want a piece of that pie! Pretty soon, you'll be on the other side of rads and moving forward.

    All the best,
    Hugs, Renee

    my team is large
i have 3 to 4 technicians every day, along with two nuclear physicists. once a week, the radiation oncologist is there as well. also, my radiation takes about 35 to 45 minutes, so there is plenty of time to listen to the music!!

    Your team is large!
Mine was only two, and it took more time to take off my cloths a wait for the appt, then the procedure itself.

hoping the rest of your rads are uneventful. After next week you'll be half done. Yah! Boy, I bet they don't apple pies from other patients. They'll be sure to treat you good :-) Your rads take a while and you have a big team. It's nice to know they care.

How sweet of you to bake
How sweet of you to bake your team the pie. 2 weeks done already! Congrats Heidi!

Why do your treatments take so long? Mine only took a few minutes.

nothing about my cancer has been normal
first of all, i have inflammatory breast cancer - very rare and very aggressive. secondly, i turned out to be a chemo failure - after 18 weeks of chemo, my cancer had spread. had another 12 weeks of chemo before mastectomy.

now with radiation, there is concern about damaging my heart. thus my very long radiation treatments - radiation is only sent during a certain part of my breathing to protect lungs and heart. my rads onc said my radiation plan was the most intricate plan she had ever had to put together.

and i love to bake - so i plan to bring a treat for my team at the end of every week ;)
