Someone on another board called it scanxiety.. So apt! Tuesday we go to Roswell Park for my hubby to get his presurgery ct scan and talk to the plastic surgeon.. I know we are going to have to deal with these scans every 3 months.. It's a little (ok a lot!) disheartening. I saw a rainbow today and I'm choosing to see it as a good omen!

    Scanxiety
As much as I dislike the experience, I can certainly identify. Waiting for results of a CT for husband as I type this.

I keep reminding myself that without these handy-dandy little scans we would not know when we need to move forward with additional treatment or surgery or whatever. Also, would not get confirmation that everything looks great, either.

Fifty years ago, we would be just waiting and praying there was nothing going on that shouldn't be. Today, we know and we can do what needs to be done - whatever that may be. We can also exhale when we get a good report.

Praying for a good report for your husband and mine.

    Hugs.

    Dear Jeannete
I absolutely HATE CT scan day....the stuff makes my mother sick and then we wait one week to meet with the doctor and we hang on every word. Talk about powerless....Unfortunately, we need the damn things to help us make decisions. It's part of any cancer treatment process and I guess the cancer normal. I pray that your CT scan results are awesome..then maybe you'll come back and say "I love CT scans"..ok NOT

    Ct scan good
Of course the qualifier .. The doctor saw a little fat on the liver.. He's 99 percent sure the radiologist will read it the same. So of course, there is a little anxiety when the phone rings until next week! No news is good news! Good news about surgery.. They aren't going to have to do a muscle graft, just skin, so hospital stay and recovery will be shorter. I just have to find a way to get through these scans every three months! I know it's better to know, but if it shows up anywhere else in the body, we know there hasn't been a cure, only treatment to prolong. Scary.. I hope your husband had good results as well!

    Scans etc
I know being powerless in just about every aspect of cancer and treatment results is a real b@$ch! I never thought my kids could be without a dad growing up.. He's always been so healthy- then wham! You get hit with a really rare form of cancer! Learning to accept- NOT like, but accept, that you can only do your best getting the right doc and treatment.. Then sit back and hope for the best.. Well, that's pretty tough! One day at a time is all you can do..
