3 more miles! I did it!

I participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk today here in Phoenix! Nobody went with me as they all walked with me in the Susan G Komen race for a Cure less than a month ago. I did not raise much money since again, everyone already supported me in a previous event. I did however run into a woman who I met last year while she was holding a yard sale to raise funds for the walk. She is a 2 1/2 year survivor, just about a year ahead of me into this. I met her friends and family and was invited to join them for a celebration afterwards. I declined the invitation, as I was exhausted and in need of a nap, but had a wonderful time on the walk with this great group of people!
Just over 3 weeks after a complete hysterectomy and I did it. I am quite proud of myself.
Now its off to the Leon Russell/Elton John concert!

    at the concert; I hear only great things about that duo! I am seeing Leon in concert (sans Elton) next month in Lake Tahoe, and I am very excited about that!

    I am impressed at your participating and doing this so soon after surgery. Enjoy the concert and don't overdo. Remember it's alright to take it a little easy after all you have been through.

    Congratulations on doing the walk! I did our local walk a few weeks back, 2 weeks after my last chemo treatment.I was surprised that i was able to do the whole 3 miles.
    Good for you! And I'm JEALOUS of you & your concert! I hope you had a blast!!

    Wow, you are an inspiration! There is no slowing you down. Three weeks after having a hysterectomy and you still managed to do the walkathon, HOLY SMOKE! You are amazing!

    Glad to hear you met some great folks while at the event. And... I know you had a great time at the concert! Good for you!

    Thank you everyone! I had a great timeon the walk and at the concert. I did however need lots of rest and some good pain meds to get me through the next day! My husband was out of town but he got back Sunday and took good care of me!
