I finished my last of 6 chemos on 6/23 and 30 of radiation on 9/2. my hair seems to be coming in, thick, but does not seem to be getting any longer. Anyone else deal with this? I am really hoping to get back to work by dec 6th as i have been on disability pretty much since jan.

    Nearly same time
I finished chemo July 2nd and rads Sept 7th. We are really close to the same time frame. My hair is coming in pretty thick and nice and even. Like you say though it seems the length is a little slower getting there. I have just started going with no head coverings in the last 2 weeks or so. I never did like wearing my wig, to hot. I wore mostly bandanas. I just got so tired of having something on my head and just went without it! I was really nervous at first but always had short hair styles anyway.(not this short) lol I do still wear a ball cap some but not much. Mine is just about the same color as before. How about yours? God Bless

It hurries up! Maybe it's just a slow start and you will get a mound of hair at once!

Just my 2 cents .. Finished 18 weeks of straight ..
consective chemo therapy - TCH on 12/20/09 .. spotty hair regrowth .. different area's which continued to grow (in my opinion, taking it's sweet time) .. Celebrate Mom's birthday on March 18th .. so 3 months in .. I was still wearing a baseball cap - winter months .. as I hear/read and researched hair growth is slower -- Now, I am waiting for another 3 weeks - to get my first HI-LITE in nearly year and half!!! My hair is about 4 inches, spiky sassy cute -- a little longer in the back .. It takes time .. You see .. I didn't wear a wig during chemo or my bald days - which come to think of it .. was about 7 to 8 months ..

Please try and remember like chemo, radiation - even our hair regrowth varies from woman to woman. All hormonal and gene related!

Strength and Courage to you all ... Yes, it takes time, and the waiting SUCKS...

    Hair
Just tonight I was complaining to Hubby that my hair sure is slow to come in. I too finished chemo in early July and rads last week. My hair is coming in white and wavy, but VERY slowly. It's probably no more than 1/2 inch. I am really impatient to start going "topless". This wig is driving me crazy - it itches and I'm so tired of dealing with it. I'm hoping that by January I'll be able to ditch the wig, but I'm very uncomfortable with going out in public with extremely short hair - it is not a good look for me! And besides, I work with little kids and I don't want to scare them! Linda

    Hair!
Hair is my topic...I think I worried the most about my hair than anything else. I finished chemo May 7th and finished rads the 2nd week of july. I stopped wearing my wig the 3rd week of August and it was really short. Now it is an inch or so long and very curly. It is growing back even all over. Just today several people who do not know me told me my hair is very pretty and one even asked what products I use. I thought that was funny, but took the compliment. I figure in 4 or 5 more months I'll be putting a perm in it. But I'm enjoying it for now, it's very easy to take care of. As it grows it is getting thicker too. It will grow! And I've been taking tamoxifen since July...Take care...

    I'm stil waiting
In finished chemo 9/23 and am currently have 5 of 21 radiation treatments completed. I have some hair growth on my legs. My eyebrows and eyelashes are still dropping off. No sign of head hair yet and I'm really anxious to see some evidence of some activity. I did not lose all my hair and still had some in the back that was buzzed to about 1/8" several months ago as well as some stray single sprouts about 3/4" here and there. None of these remaining hairs have grown at all, they've just remained like they were several months ago, and I see no evidence of any new growth anywhere. It may be silly, but just this morning I buzzed what remained down really close because I want to see evidence of something changing - whenever it happens. My oncologist said things should start to happen about 6 weeks after the last chemo. I guess the legs count, and I know the head hair will come, but I'm getting impatient . . .

    impatient here too!!
Suzanne I'm being impatient too, and I just had my last chemo 3 weeks ago! I have a friend here in my town that I met not too long ago, she jsut finished her radiation in August, and she just posted a pic of her hair growth today -and just from the last time I saw her (October 10th) - i could not BELIEVE how much her hair has grown. She says she takes a daily biotin supplement, and uses Mane n Tail shampoo & conditioner.
I know that shampoo & conditioner works really well, needless to say I'm stopping by Walgreen's tonight to pick up some & biotin as well, I've had quite a few cancer survivors tell me they've taken the supplements to speed up hair regrowth. I didn't lose all of mine & have had a stubbly head the whole time I was in chemo, but like you said they didn't grow. My husband said today he noticed a big difference in the back of my hair, and that there's alot of "light" (i think maybe his nice way of saying gray) hairs coming in too!
I swear if all my hair comes back in gray I'm going to dye it all a platinum/silver color.
    *hugs*

    Something that works!
Hi Suzanne, I finished chemo on july 12 and I went to have my first hair cut last week! I am using arginine on my shampoo, I usually buy a Mexican one call Banart shampoo, you can find it on mexican supermarkets, and it really help with the arginine, add the powder of 4 capsules on it and you will see the results!
    Take care
