Hi, I finished my NPC (T3n0m0) treatment on August 2009. On 26th October 2010, my x-ray deteched the cancer cell in my lung. Further ct-can show metastases lump nodes in both lungs. The biggest one is 3cm.

Need another 6 round of chemo. 1 round of chemo in every 3 weeks. Doc said treament is to control it and it may recur again in future. Survival rate is not more 10years on paper.

My will to live is strong now after prayer and faith in Jesus and Virgin Mary.

I want to live more longer than 10years to see my two sons growing and live with my wife till the old ages.

I heard many cancer survival stories who live more than the predict survival rate. They strong will and faith to live is very strong. They believe the best healer is ourself thru positive emotion, strong will power and faith.

I would like to know if anyone here who have cancer recur again with poor survival rate predicted by paper and now still living in peace and good health.

Thanks.

Paul

    Happens Every Day
    PaulJoseph,

I have seen folks here who've done well after a recurrance. Hoping to add you to the list. I agree - I believe your attitude and inner fire make a huge difference in how you can do. Do well.

    Paul,

You seem to have a positive mind set and that is important. I have in the past, mentioned a friend of my wife. A co-worker that retired and roughly 6 months after that found out that she had cancer. Her Doctors told her that she needed to get all her things in order as she would be dead in 2 years.

She went through the Chemo and lost her hair, etc. She decided to sell her house and moved to Florida as she always wanted to go there. Her cancer was in remission, then it came back. She fought it again. That was 8 years ago and she is still doing well. She was late Stage cancer and has fought like a Trooper.

With that all said, we really don't know what the future holds for us. We can plan all we want, but along the way, something is going to trip us up.If we are fortunate to actually do what we plan on, then we are Blessed. As we all know, each day is a Gift and we try our best to live each day to it's fullest and enjoy it. Hopefully, we will wake up tomorrow.

My Best to You and Everyone Here

    Peace and Good Health
It sounds like you are that person you described at the end. I like to think of myself as living in peace and good health also regardless of the predicted survival rates. I believe peace and good health are stand alone qualities of our lives and are choices we make. You seem to have made that choice too. More peace and good health to you Paul Joseph.

faith will help you stay strong
    Paul-
I do not know anyone who had a recurrence, but one of my cousins had a son who had glioblastoma maleforme a very deadly brain cancer. they were told that he would not live more than 6 months. he was only 12 at the time of his diagnosis. He had a very strong faith. although the tumor eventually took his life, he lived for 2 1/2 years almost 3 years past the time of diagnosis. Paper prognosis is just that a piece of paper. you can burn a piece of paper, you can crumble it. there is no expiration date on you. I strongly believe in the power of prayer...it is helping through my own fight with MEC...I will add you to my prayer list.
May God give you the strength you need to fight your tumors, to rise above any fear, to enjoy every moment you have with your wife and sons. May you too live many years over and beyond your paper prognosis. May you find peace and good health!
