My 3 sisters and I sent our blood to participate in the trial below. I heard back from my contact this am--they received my blood and had to ask about 10 min worth of questions. I am so thrilled to finally be able to partipate in research--anything to try and beat the beast. I just had to share my excitement!

I found the study on armyofwomen.org after hearing about it on NPR. Check it out sometime as, in my opinion, it is the very easiest site to negotiate.

Study I was accepted in:

Project Title Identification of Novel Genetic Risk Factors that Contribute to the Risk for Breast Cancer

Researcher Paul Goodfellow, PhD

Study Summary The purpose of the study is to learn what genetic factors may play a role in the development of breast cancer in young women. The researchers need to recruit 5,000 women who were diagnosed with invasive breast cancer when they were 40 years old or younger for this study.

    Fabulous Cynthia!
Yes, we must for our daughter!!

Yes, I would do anything to
Yes, I would do anything to keep her from the beast.

I hate that at the ripe old age of 28 she has already had a mammogram. She has also confided in me that, since her aunts and me all had ER+ cancer, she is afraid to ever have children because pregnancy raises your estrogen level so much. I have tried to reassure about this, but she is a PA student and is strongly opinionated.

    I hate the beast!
