Hat Cehmo on Oct. 19th, Neulasta shot on the 20th. Had the "normal" side effects. Now having "cold sweats". Wake up and not warm but cold and my hair is wet, feet and body is cold. My energy level once I start doing something keeps going. Called Onc. said to check for a temp. No temp, no fever. Was taking Dexamethasone before on the day of and for two days after Chemo. He thinks it is from that but why would it take this long? Now as I am typing, starting to sweat, a cold sweat. Anyone know about this?

    So sorry
I used that same steroid on chemo but never had this reaction. Try calling and talking to one of the nurses who do the treatments I think sometimes they know more than the Onc. about the side effects. Hope you get answers soon. God Bless

I took the same drug and
I took the same drug and didn't have that reaction either. I agree with Boopy - call the Chemo Nurse. They are a wealth of info.

    Are they heat flashes?
I have been experiencing somewhat of the same thing. For me, I think I am having heat flashes. My whole body feels hot inside but to the touch I am cool. It has been getting worse with each treatment for me. As always, best to check, but it could be hot flashes.

    side effects suck!!!
So sorry you are having a difficult time right now, Jean. Just try and stay positive, hopefully, this time next year, this will just be a memory, and you'll be telling someone else, how it will pass, and you'll keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Well I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and hoping that, this to shall pass, soon...love..hugs..alison

    steriod
    Jean,
To me it sounds like your dosage is to high. I take the same thing only different dosage.
I take two pills in the morning and the evening the day before chemo and the same thing the day after chemo. They also give me some during chemo so I don't take it on chemo day.
how many pills are you taking in one day??

    steriod reaction
Oh my goodness. I had the same reaction. I would appear flushed and people would ask me if I was ok. Just thinking of being warm made me hot. I eventually got the dose seriously decreased and by IV on the day of Taxol chemo. It is very manageable now. Good luck and prayers.

Want to thank you ladies for your in-put. No "cold sweats" during the day. Once I got the feet and body warm felt better. Had vitals checked and all read great. Hoping not to have problem tonight. Was in the "go" mode, up and down emotionally; cleaned the house, did laundry, just needed to keep moving all morning till late afternoon. Pharmacist, Onc. and Onc. nurse agreed that this was a type of "steroid crash". Onc. prescribed Xanax to slow me down and get some sleep. Never have had that so hope it doesn't have another side effect.
