    The only experience I've had
The only experience I've had is that they refused tx to my husband because we only had 4 months left on our COBRA insurance. Made me suspicious of their goals, and was very painful to be turned away after they basically said they were the best of the best. )0:

    No, and I've never heard
No, and I've never heard anything good about them, except the good things they say about themselves in TV commercials. Correction: in a TV commercial.

They certainly weren't forthcoming with infor for me
They wanted me to commit to using their services before they'd tell me what they were. I got the feeling that they are strongest on marketing.

My encounters on the phone left a bad taste in my mouth.

I read the book "A Reason
I read the book "A Reason for Hope". It was written by the chaplain of the CTCA. It was an amazing book. I like the philosophy of treating the whole person. They focus on traditional medicine and nutrition, spiritual and many other things. Scouty knew someone that went there and had a great experience there. If you PM her I'm sure that she would share the information with you.

    Thanks Brenda
Yes, I have a good friend that went there towards the end of his journey to see if he could get a better quality to his life (bad blockages) and if at all possible, a little more time then his current docs had given him (the whole get your affairs in order conversation). He went to the Chicago center since I think they each have their own specialties instead of all of them doing the same things. Mark was thrilled with the results but hated being away from home as long as he was especially since it was late in his journey. He really wished he had gone there much, much sooner.

Some here have called them and said they were not very receptive but Mark was so complimentary of everything he experienced. They are private hospitals much like others, Duke or Wake Forest Baptist Hospitals in my area, which means they are "for profit" so some insurance companies don't pay for them or like mine they don't pay as much as they do for public facilities. That seems to bother some people here but I think we all would be surprised to see how many of our various docs work for "for profit" offices.

If you should reach out to them, please let us know your experience.

    CTCA
I don't have any experience with them, but one of my friends went there this summer for a second opinion. She has stage IV colon cancer with lung mets. She is weary of chemo after 3 years off and on and wanted to see what they had to offer. She is currently receiving chemo at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She was very impressed with the treatment she received in Chicago (the one in Oklahoma wouldn't take her insurance, but Chicago did). The result of all the tests they did on her was the same as what KU had told her - inoperable lung mets and to stay on chemo.
