edited March 2014 in Colorectal Cancer #1
Hi, this is a follow up post to my 'Five Additional Things I Tried in addition to radiation, chemo, and surgery' post I made back in June. In July 2010 both of my legs went out, and then numbness progessed upwards to my nipple line. It happened within a couple of weeks. By the time I made doctors appointments and started getting xrays and mris the damage was substantial. We discovered a fist sized cancerous tumor up high on my spine pressed against my left lung and heart and wrapped around and growing into my spine. The full body MRI showed no evidence of the original cancerous tumor in my colo-rectal area. It has shrunk down so far as to be undetectable. We started radiation therapy almost at once, there was no time to order and use fish zole, my immune system is now greatly degraded. No chemotherapy treatments are scheduled because my chemo doctor believes that they would not help. It's inoperable. I'm paralyzed from the waist down so there is no way I can gather the slippery elm bark, or burdock root, or sheep sorrel, although I'm going to look into just buying them online if they don't cost too much. I'm very happy that there is no longer any evidence of my original tumor, but it looks like the new one might kill me, or will more likey leave me without the use of my legs. Just keeping everyone posted. Thanks.

    thanks for the update
Oh, no! I hope they can take care of getting rid of the tumor and all the small cells. Major Bummer, to hear about the paralysis! I hope it all gets better for you!

I am sorry for this chain of events
Have you had a second opinion? Have you been on several chemo cocktails? If not there just may be one that will work for you. Good luck, please keep us updated.

    Hi, it came on fast
    Hi,
Sorry for the delay in replying. I don't get online every day, usually it's around every three days or so. Everything seemed to be going fine, no problems at all. Then one morning my left foot was numb. I checked my body out and found a spider bite mark on my solar plexis and I thought 'no big deal, I've just been bitten by a brown recluse spider'. In the next three days or so my whole left leg became numb and my left foot became paralyzed. The spider bite meanwhile had gone away...so it wasn't the spider bite. So I made a doctor's appointment for later that week. By the time I saw the doctor one leg was mostly paralyzed and my right leg was going numb. By the time I got the full body MRI and we discovered the new tumor up on my spine both of my legs were paralyzed and I was numb from my nipple line down. All of this happened within a month, probably within three weeks. Thanks for the well wishes and prayers. God bless all of you.
