Just when the worst week starts to improve......life throws in another little detour to deal with...the start of lymphedema. I am ok with it...onc will give me referral he says for specialist to deal with that...pt and sleeves...whatever it takes...I am just humored by just when you are starting to feel better after a week from H, would have preferred a cherry on top.......it's like the Big C through a spike bar in my road to recovery! I know, this can be under control with sleeves etc...I was just hoping to get through the #7 & #8 chemo cycles before any new challenges were put in my path. Anyway, today I got hydrated once again, 3rd day of neuprogen shot, and added in a new shot for Red blood cells which also decided to decline. This TAC kills everything in its path...the good, the bad, and the ugly!

You do not walk alone. We are in your corner praying you thru all this yuk that BC brings. We are bigger and stronger than it, and we wont let it get us down even on our down days. Hang in there. I've seen the light at the end of the tunnel and you will as well.

Ok Cavediver! Let me bend down, and I will hoist you up on my shoulders~ think how tall you will be atop a 50'woman!

I admire your spunk; knowing that none of this is easy...and Natly is right, you are absolutely not doing this alone~ we are with with you every step of the way.

    Hugs,

The chemo WILL be over soon.
The chemo WILL be over soon. It's good to remember that the TAC is attacking those bad cells big time. You've come so far and your fighting spirit comes through loud and clear! We're here for you, cheering you on. xoxoxoxo Lynn

    I'm so sorry
that once again you got hit with a curve ball. How are you feeling otherwise?? One of my sisters has had some lymphodema since 7 of her nodes were cancerous. She had lumpectomy and 15-20 nodes removed and had chemo & rads. She took Arimidex for 5 years. This is year #6. She has had some pt but basically doesn't wear jewelry on her left wrist or hand and is ok. Hang in there and I hope the pt helps. I don't think my sister ever had the arm sleeve.

I can tell by your writings that your are a strong person which will serve you well, if I'd could I'd give cancer a little kick for you but its an elusive little beast. I am glad they caught your lymphedema early, I have dealt with mine for about 9 or ten years now it seems I have lost count. Check out this site it has a lot of good information.

What are your early symptoms ?
I'm having some numbness in my arm and wondering if that's one of the signs....

    Lymphedema can be managed..
Life sure throws us a few doesn't it?
I was discharged from my PT/OT treatment for Lymphedema on Friday. I was very excited because I don't have any doc appts this month.
I am doing the lymph massage- drainage daily (more when necessary) and the compression sleeve and gauntlet (glove) are effective in keeping it under control in my arm.My arm is actually smaller or the same size in some places, as the none effected arm except at the very top of my arm. The edema in the trunk is a bit more stubborn but I am dealing with it and not letting it interfere with life.
Interestingly, today is my first sick day off from work since the week of my surgery in March. I have an "opthalmic migraine"-the second one in my entire life. It was probably triggered by ice coffee (love it but can't drink it) and stress.THe stress is not one of those big stressors but it seems just enough to cause my body to produce the pain that has stopped me in my tracks. Ok, body, I am listening.....tomorrow will be another day....
    Hugs, K
