I have asthma so I don't know if it's connected to my asthma or not but every time I eat or drink anything, I always have to clear my throat or cough for a good hour before it clears up, every time, even having some water can cause this. It seems like my saliva gets real thick, gross I know but does this happen to any of you?

I just found out I also have a hiatal hernia but the surgeon said he wants to fix that problem after my cancer stuff.

    problems breathing
Hi, I have problems breathing. My doctor asks me if I cough or have to clear my throat. She feels it is just a side effect of fatigue. I am having a CT scan Friday to make sure that's all it is and the radiation did not damage my lungs. I don't know if that answers your question, but try to get extra rest and see if that helps. Otherwise, talk to your doctor. Good luck!

I do lay down at night to sleep but sometimes
I end up coughing so hard I have to sit up till it fades away. I'm seeing my surgeon tomorrow, I'm planning on asking if he can prescribe something for me, I don't even know if I'm having allergys or something. Thanks Betsy

go to a chiroprator for the hernia
My husband developed one years ago. Dr wanted to do surgery and admitted even with that a good chance it would come back. My chiropractor showed him how to push it back in and some exercises to do. for about 6 months my husband had to work with it and now it has been years later and he has no problem with it.
