Hi everybody, i have been reading this site for a while and finally decided to post. I have learned a great deal from all of you, so i finally decided to join in on the fun.
I was dx'd May 8th 2010 with IDC with mets to bone. (See how much you've taught me i've learned the lingo) Just finished my 4th round of chemo the Taxotera and Cytoxin. Originally onc doc said i would do the chemo every 3 weeks then every 4 months PET scan and see where to go from there. Radiation to follow and then surgery. I'm scheduled for my PET scan on August the 11th hoping that things will look good. I also do the Zometa with every chemo treatment. No unbearable side effects thus far with any of those meds. I do have some difficulty with the Neulasta shot about 3 days after. Otherwise I'd say I'm not doing to badly.
Love all the stories you ladies share and am so glad I found this site. Hate that we all have to meet this way, but it is what it is!

    I did'nt find out about this site until I was finished with Chemo and Rads, but I do enjoy having this site for all the stories and I always seem to learn something new.
    Like today, I have never heard of Zometa and now I see that it is more common.
    I'm going to ask my onc about it, and I see you take it with your chemo, is it because you have mets to bone?
    How does it work?

    Welcome to the Family! I am glad you decided to post~ in keeping with your topic, I always say that Talkers and Stalkers are separated by just one letter! LOL

    It goes without saying that none of us wish we had met here of all places, but as you have also seen, we are an amazing group of ( mostly) women and some kick-a$$ men, too! And I am convinced that it is due in part because Cancer is what we fight, but NOT who we are!

    Now that you have stopped being a "Cyber Stalker", we hope to see you in here regularly!

    Glad you are piping up, though there is nothing wrong with just reading the boards. Yes, we all started out that way before we had the courage to post. I am sorry you have bone mets, but happy that you are tolerating your chemo well.

    And a note about zometa, some of us without mets are also taking it. It's been shown to help prevent distant metastatsis for us early stage gals.

    I love this site. I didn't find it until after my mastectomy. It would have been much easier if I had found it earlier. I love my CSN sisters (and brothers). They are an amazing group of people.

    Welcome. I actually didn't stalk. I found all of you, had a burning question, registered and asked it. It was something stupid like "shouldn't I be having surgery by now?" I was so freaked out at the slow pace.

    Think probably most of us started out as stalkers. Glad you found us sooner rather than later. I was later and sure could have used all the good info and caring support while I was going thru my dx and masectomy. Sorry you have to be here but we are a soft place to fall.
