okay, so i am finding my AC treatments to be harder on me. . .more side effects, but has anyone else had this happen to them?

i have had sores in my mouth, and have been using biotene, which does soothe them. but i noticed after this second treatment, that my lips are vibrating. not constantly, but enough to be annoying.

I am sorry to hear that the AC has been difficult for you. I am can really empathize. I ended up being super sensitive to the AC treatments and had eosophagitus, mucositosis along with a range of GI problems amoungst other things ......some of which have not gone away. I did have sores in the inside of lips and sometimes on my lips. I also had a strange sensation in my lips, a kind of weird tingling which I am not sure is the same as the vibration in your lips. Do tell you Oncologist about it. It might not seem like much but then you don't really know.

Hang in there and take care, get plenty of rest, your AC treatments will be over soon enough.

With each treatment i had, the side effects got worse. I developed sores in my mouth as well and my oncologist called in a mouth swish that really helped clear it up and numbed it as well. Cant say that my lips are vibrating, but i now shake alot in my hands and its been October since i finished my chemo and im still shaking off and on. I hope things get better.
    Take care

    Yeah, vibrating lips
Yep, I've got 'em. It's not even really annoying, just odd. I rarely think of it when I'm listing my side effects, but, there they are. I've never heard anyone else mention it.

My hands and feet have started tingling this week, too -- 6 weeks after the end of chemo. The tingling isn't painful, but sometimes they also swell unpleasantly.

    All temporary, I hope, Heidi!

What kind of anti nausous medication are you on? Not Reglan, I hope. A serious side effect is tardive dyskinesia. FDA has a warning against it.

    It's my teeth
My teeth have been vibrating! I have to keep my mouth open when I sleep because I can hear it and it keeps me awake! I thought I was the only one that could have such an issue. I thought it was nerves. I ended chemo 2 weeks ago and I still am having the issue though only when I lay down to go to sleep. Marianne

I had sores in my mouth, my gums around my teeth would bleed. The worse for me was my tongue was falling apart. I had holes in my tongue where chucks of tissue would fall out.Gross I know, but it all grew back. The inside of ones mouth repairs itself rather quickly.

    peripheral neuropathy in mouth
I thought of it as peripheral neuropathy in my mouth. Every treatment it felt like my mouth/tongue were tingling/asleep. My oncologist said (not helpfully) that it was not a normal reaction to chemotherapy, and that perhaps it was a calcium deficiency. However, looking at this makes me think it's more common than I thought. I had TC rather than AC, so maybe this is caused by the C part?

I did not get sores in my mouth and hope yours are healing. The good news about all the side effects is that they do finally end. My last chemo was 5/18, and I think by 3 weeks out I was feeling mostly normal again, except for the hair. My hair has started to grow back though, so now instead of baldy, my husband and kids call me fuzzy!

Good luck with your chemo. This too shall pass.
