Hi,

I am just wondering my brother has signet ring cell cancer in the stomach. A cat scan was done and it showed nothing in the other organs. Now they want to do a PET & MRI if it didn't show up in the CAT scan could it show up in the PET/ MRI. What is the difference of these tests.

Thanks

Ellen

    Hi Ellen
I know that a PET scan will show the most detail of all the scans. An MRI will show mostly the muscle tissue. My thought is that a PET scan is the way to go. Best of luck. Prayers to you and your brother/
