On May 5th I had a BLM with the DIEP. I was in the hospital for 5 days. Some of the recovery has been rough. Yestedray was a good day I got up for a long time and did stuff. I wonder when I will ever get my life back. Before surgery I was convienced I wanted Chemo - Now I just want my life and body back. I want to go the movies or to work. I know its only been a week but I feel like it is going to take forever to be better. Then I will still have to see an onco to find out the rest.

On the brighter side everything Looks good, the boobs feel lumpy but the shape is nice and my scars look fine and I am not in as much pain now just constant discomfort and tightness

    Hang in There
Good news is it can only get better! It takes months to start getting back to normal physically (as best you can) and emotionally. I was impatient like you. I had a double mastectomy 9-9-09 and am still going through the recontruction process today. I had it in my mind I'd be done by the end of '09. Joke was on me. But you can't stop being an optimist though and hoping for things to improve. Just sprinkle a little more realism in the mix so you can manage your expectations. I stopped planning for a certain outcome because it never turned out the way I planned and I ended up upset or mad. Now I keep the outcome vague but still keep a goal in mind and expect the possbility of the unexpected. I'm a Mom too...I know how you're feeling.
    You're not alone.

    Hey
It's good to hear from you. I was wondering how you are doing.

Take it easy, rest up, recuperate.

I'd hug you, but it might hurt right now:)

Wanting it to go back to normal
    Dear Tulsa,
I how I know how that feels to want it over and done and to get on with life. Enjoy the good days and pleasant moments. Make your pleasure moments happen often. Take one day at a time and make that lemonade when life gives you lemons.Hang in there sister in pink.
    Hugs,
    Kay :)
