Hello to all,
My latest Ct scans show NED. CA 125 is 16.5 vs 637 last Nov..I have had 6 chemo treatments over the past 5 months Due to widespread amts of cancer cells and size of tumor when i was first operated on,the decision was made at that time not to remove anything, instead to set up the chemotherapy regimen..I have since been cleared for surgery April 22nd .. complete hysterectomy.Onc/gyn Doctor stated that it is the usual standard of care.While I am okay with this decision..actually relieved as i feel this foreign invader can strike again at any time. Some family members feel that it is unnecessary and a risk. I know that all surgeries carry a modicum of risks, but it is a personal decision between myself and my Dr.I guess i am just wanting some outside opinions. BTW, I am 67 have a positive outlook on life and subscribe to live and let live. Thank you all for your messages of hope and encouragement

    I do what the doctors
    I do what the doctors recommend...they are specialist in this field. As ovarian cancer does have a high rate of recurrance (as many of the ladies on this board will verify), it is probably best to listen to the onc/gyn. Perhaps a second opinion will help put your mind at ease to make this decision.
