calcaneal tumor with cortical destruction

I have not been diagnosed with cancer but I am here because I need help. I have been having pain in my foot for about six months and I finally went to the doc. He discovered a tumor in my calcaneus that is breaking the bone. He said that he doesn't think it is cancer but is not willing to do a biopsy. Meanwhile, I am in pain and I'm afraid that my bone will break more when I walk on it. I think he is wrong after researching calcaneal bone tumors but I can't seem to get anywhere. I want to get a second opion but my insurance will not pay for it. I feel like I'm being hung out to dry just to save money on my treatment. How do I convince the doctor to take the next step and do a biopsy?
