CT Scan or Pet/CT and how often?

Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering which scan your oncologist recommends for you. I get CT scans because I've had 5 false positives on prior PET/CTs. Also an early diagnosis of DCIS breast cancer on another PET/CT. However, for staging my NHL recurrance and following progress during treatment I was followed with Pet/CT. Now he only wants to do CTs.

Also, how often does your onc recommend scans. I just had one 4 weeks after completing 6 cycles of RCHOP. And he is recommending a scan in 6 months. Are you getting scans more often than this? I really would like a scan every 3 to 4 months, at least for the first year after a recurrance. It's scary going 6 months. Especially since my recurrance happened during a 6 month period and his comment was we waitied too long, should have done a scan at 3 or 4 months. I see my Lymphoma specialist at UCSF in April so I'll also get his recommendations. Yes, I have 2 oncologists following me because I have a very very rare dx.

Thanks for any information and comments as everyone here has so much knowledge to share.
I appreciate each and every one of you.

Blessing to you,
