surgery followed by cisplatin and gemzar

Hello everyone, I am fairly new to this site and have felt the connection and compassion that all of you offer. Any help and advice you can offer will be so appreciated. Today I was told my cancer is back, 3rd time in 3 years and yes it was discouraging but I am determined to fight and prevail. That said, my dr is suggesting surgery followed by cisplatin and gemzar. Have any of you been on this combo and if so what was it like. My first go round was IP and that was brutal and last time was Doxil which was not bad so I 'm trying to determine what to expect, hair loss? bad nausea/vomiting etc?
Also, as a 3rd recurrence has anyone been on different or novel therapies?
