MADE IT THROUGH MY 5TH CHEMO.

Only one left now and it is scheduled for the 26th of Feb. Get my Nuelast shot on Mon. Really tired right now but not sleepy. Sweated most of the night but did sleep some. Probably due to the Atavin given with chemo. Already took a Zofran aboutt 6am for nausea. Making a grocery list for my husband to go to the store. He has been a dear through all of this. Drinking water and Gatorade G2. Trying to hang tough, I know tomorrow will be my bad day. Big "D" usually kicks in second day after chemo and it is a struggle for about a week after that. I had the onc's nurse schedule me for fluids for all of next week just in case i needed it due to lack of appetite and Big "D".

My boss and another friend if mine are bc survivors and they are organizing a team to walk in the Relay for Life in my honor. They already have put together gift baskets to be raffeled off in my honor. I did not expect any of this and was truly touched. My husband has said that he would like to walk for me as I will probably be doing rads in April when this event is scheduled. Gotta love him.

I have read here about others having issues with their jobs and I am so blessed with mine. They have told me to take whatever I need for leave and if I run out they will donate leave to me. I have printed them little color coded monthly calendars so they will know when I will be at work and when I will be dealing with this disease. I have printed calendars all the way through rads which I hope to be done with by the end of April.

Sorry for rambling but have a lot on my mind this morning and felt like sharing.(Must be the Decadron)

Hugs to all.

Donna

    Hi Donna
    I guess the nurses

    Hi Donna

I guess the nurses were able to access your port? You are really blessed with the people around you. With your support from work, I'm sure it takes a lot off your mind so you can concentrate on getting well. Your hubby sounds like a real gem. You may be able to walk a bit at the relay--see how you're feeling. I also did the calendars so everyone would know when I was "done". Just as a warning--the radiation machine went down 3 times without warning (once the computer cable was cut by construction workers while I was on the table) so be prepared for you schedule to change. You're almost done!! Keep thinking that.

    Keep us posted.

    Keep Hanging Tough
You keep hanging tough. Like you already know, the effects will pass in a week. Keep drinking the water and gatorade even if you don't want too. Take care and get plenty of rest. You will be done before you know it.
