Oh now that does sound like fun, I hope you have a great time! My husband is out of town all week and will barely be back in time for the game so we will be spending a quiet day at home watching what should be a great game. Enjoy your time with friends!

I'm not sure what were doing for the super bowl, I do know it'll be a great game though. Enjoy your time with friends and have an awesome weekend!!

It is probably Un American at the least, and a capital offense at the most, but I absolutely cannot stand yuk, ugh, FOOTBALL! I have no idea who is even playing in the Superbowl, nor do I know who is on any of the teams...I so don't "get" football. Never have! And yes, I was a cheerleader "back in the day"!!! The football coach quizzed us on the rules/regs of the game, and I had no clue! Those of us who had no idea what we were cheering about couldn't be on the squad anymore, so I became a Basketball cheerleader! LOL

I usually hide during Superbowl ...no matter how many are chowing down and hooting and hollering at my house, I take the time to watch movies, read , catch up on correspondence or languish in a bubble bath in my room! My Reggie and Siobhan are football fanatics and good cooks, and never leave a mess either, so the front of the house is safe! LOL

Sounds like a perfect Superbowl Sunday to me!:-)

Hugs,
Chen♥

Shortscake, sounds like a fabulous menu and a whole lot of fun. My husband just laughs at me because like Chen I'm not into football. Any other time I'm in front of a tv I either mute or walk away from the commercials, but during super bowl that's all I watch. I'm only in it for the gathering of family and friends, food and laughs :)

Enjoy!

No matter whether you watch the game or not, eat-drink-be merry, no matter what else you might choose to do...

Have fun on Sunday!

Kind regards, Susan

I cannot wait until the Super Bowl! I have always loved football, love everything about it! Hubby kids me that I know more than him about it, but, that is sooooooooo untrue! He was the big jock in school. Hmmmmm, maybe that is why I got so interested in the game! lol We have some friends coming out. Going to have a feast! Spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, salad, brownies and ice cream for dessert. We used to have chicken or just snacks, but, found that everyone was always starving, so, now we have the full meal deal. lol Although, hubby did buy some shrimp trays, cheese balls, crackers and pretzels. So, it is NOT a day to worry about weight. It is always a lot of fun and we buy squares on a board so if our numbers win...we win MONEY! We usually win and it is very, very nice! It also makes the game more fun because you are trying to figure out what has to happen so that the score matches your numbers. We are rooting for New Orleans! Just hope everyone has a great day doing whatever.

Love, Jeanne ♥

Like Chen too - not a huge football fan - but that being said, I like any team who beats Dallas and the Colts. Being a Raven's fan, I would have liked to see them in, but there is no way in heck I am going to route for the Colts. I don't think anyone here in the Baltimore area is either. I will root for the Saints. But I'll probably do it alone, I don't know anyone else who is interested. Their loss - I would have made quite a party!!! LOL

I also like football like Jeanne does. We are really hoping that the Saints win as I think they do have a better team. They have fought hard to get this far. So, Go Saints!

We will probably get together with my neighbors. As far as food? I would love to make this spicy Buffalo Chicken dip, Taco dip, chips and who knows. Personally, I think it's a blast to go without my wig at home. People who have not seen me without hair get a kick out of it. I just tell them "dont hate me because I'm beautiful LOL! We laugh about the fact that I have a great Chemo complexion and I am trying things with my lack of hair that I would never have otherwise. LOL! Hope you have a great time. God Bless.

You are serving all my favs (except meatballs)! I'm not a big football fan, but I love to party and there are usually several there that agree so we just chat, have cocktails & party til half time and watch the commericials cause they are usually pretty great.

But this year we are staying home so I will be watching a movie or "computerizing" in another room. We are going to a party on Sat and I just can't party two nites in a row...lol.

You could start out with your wig and then after everyone has arrived and is deeply engrossed in your good food and the game, come out without that hairpiece (which by the way looks fabulous on you). It would be fun if you could have someone take pictures of the expressions on everyone's faces. I wish I could have the nerve to do that...you are too funny! Report back what you decided to do!

You go girlfriend... Judy :-)

I don't know if I'll do anything, but Peyton Manning played for Tennessee and Reggie Bush played for Tennessee , so I'll be rooting for both teams!

I'm having a party too. I do it every year and I'm not giving it up because I have cancer. I'm keeping it simple, appetizers, meatballs, chicken salad etc. My family is bringing some food as well. I love football and it's like having a day off from your disease. My only problem is the Patriots aren't in it. GO NEW ORLEANS! It would be nice for the people of Louisiana to have something to celebrate for a change.

It's a sad story for me... Superbowl-wise. I lived in Louisiana for 15 years ... during the really rough times when the Saints were the "Ain'ts" and people wore paper bags over their heads. Soooo ... seems like I'd be for the Saints now ... huh? Problem. After I left Louisiana I moved back "home" to Indiana ... so I've been a Colts fan. Have always loved Peyton Manning and the whole Manning crew ... since their home is New Orleans. I'm totally torn and can't root for ... or against either team. I wish they'd pass a real fast rule saying the game could end in a tie. That would make me happy. Co-winners!

hugs.

Can I come over????? You are having all of my favorite snack foods!!!! As for wig or no wig......NO WIG!!!!! They are your friends, they know you are sick, it is your home, be comfy! When I am at home, I go naked...LOL! I have even gotten to the point that most times I go out, I don't were a wig...my head gets to hot. Either way, relax, enjoy your family and friends, and may the best team win!!!!!

We've got a few friends coming out to watch the game and to support the Saints! I love football too Jeanne! My husband even got me a Saint's football jersey to wear. I am so excited! We're having submarine sandwiches, chippies, pickles and anything else you might want. Oh, and plenty of beer! I have stored up on lots of snacks pre-game, so, noone goes hungry. ( like that could happen ) We do this almost every year and enjoy it, as do our friends. Wishing everyone a great Sunday!

My husband and I are just staying home to watch the game by ourselves. We are still deciding on the feast that we will have. HA We enjoy it better that way, with just the two of us. Really looking forward to a nice, relaxing Sunday together watching football. I just hope it is a good game, which I think it will be. Have a good Sunday!

"Football"...don't know the first thing about it....it's a sport, right? Played with some kind of ball, right...? :-)

But I'm interested to get ideas from your menus because, in just a few weeks are...THE OSCARS! I always say that the Oscars are "my superbowl" -- I'm all about loading up on snackies, parking on the couch from the first minute of red carpet coverage, and providing my own running commentary on how everyone's dressed.

Traci

(Claudia: You actually got "demoted" as a cheerleader? I didn't know that was even possible! :-)

Yeah, I was demoted...and it obviously scarred me for life being that I still remember it!

It's ok~ to this day I love basketball,( the sport I was "demoted" to) but my REAL sports-love is baseball! I am originally from NY, so, Go Yankees! My sister and I have already bought tickets ( the minute they were available!) to see the Bronx Bombers play the Oakland A's in April! I will be flying up to Sacramento and spending a few days...ahhhhh Jeter Season! LOL LOL

But I'm with ya about the Oscars,Traci~ I already watched the Golden Globes and the Sag Awards ( and the Grammys too) I am sooo happy for Sandra Bullock! Remember...my Reggie said that the character she plays in The Blind Side has a Chen-heart! Awwwwwwww! That man is such a keeper~ he kept looking at me during the movie saying "She's just like you, Chen!" I wish...but if HE thinks so, it's all good with me!!!

Hugs,
Chen♥`

I was a cheerleader for football all thru school and college! Loved it and love football! Going to some friends house to celebrate. Go Saints! Hubby bought me a football jersey too and I can't wait to wear it. I love that guy!

Traci love your Oscar party idea. I think it would be great fun to dress up like the nominees from their movies, or dress up like past nominees or winners, glam it up and have a big cocktail and goodies party.

Our neighbors gather each year at the clubhouse for super bowl sunday. Everyone brings a dish to share and we sit around eat the food and watch the boring game. I dont recall too many super bowl games that were actually fun or exciting to watch. Tired as I am, I do plan to attend the party, visit with the neighbors, and leave at half time.

Alphabetically speaking: Go Colts Go Saints and may the best team win.

We are getting together with a few other couples and it is kicked off with a brunch~ the girls are not into football so we are watching a chick flick on a huge projector screen tv, the guys get the tv down by all the food and such.
I did try out to be a cheerleader "SeaGal" for the Seattle Seahawks back in 1980!! Out of 300 girls I made it down to 45~ and out of the 45 they picked 16 girls of which 13 were already current seagal cheerleaders...I was bummed, but It was a great memory. My 2 older sisters went with me to "cheer" me on. I was even on the local news! My 15 minutes of fame I guess!!

GO COLTS!

I am from central Indiana so I am supporting the Colts. They have done a lot for our state--both individually & as a team. If the Colts were not in the Superbowl, I would be in favor of the Saints.
