vertigo after rads today

Ugh! 7th rads, it was a little longer today and I've had vertigo since I got off the table. I am so nauseous. After I had my gallbaldder removed 2 yrs ago, I was hospitalized 2 days later with a vertigo and I have it occaisionally. I guess it's positional.

Does anyone else have this? Any suggestions? I was wondering if I brought something softer to rest my head on - their headrest kind of cuts off the circulation in my neck.

    I have Vertigo. I have had it for years. Mine was caused by being i=on an airplane with a sinus infection. It is very much positional. Mine is on my right side. Try to keep your eyes straight a head of you when you are gettin up off the table. Try not to lean to one side or the other. I take my antinausea drugs for my vertigo. I only have this once in a while, but it does not take much more than a small cold or bending down wrong or stress to trigger it off.

    You should let the rad

    You should let the rad techs know about the vertigo. They will help you up and off the table. The last thing you or they want is a someone passing out. I had a problem long ago when I had pelvic radiation with getting so light headed that I almost passed out. I always started getting up as soon as they told me they were through and they weren't in the room yet. Luckily I grabbed the table and they got in and helped me to a chair. After that I waited until they were in the room and let them help me up. I never had any further problems so I probably just sat up too fast. But with vertigo you want to let them know and wait for them to help you sit up and get up.

    Sue, I definately agree with
    Sue, I definately agree with Stef. Make sure they (radiation folks) are aware of your vertigo. If your table is like the one I was on, it was raised also. You don't want to fall and hit your head, or anything else for that matter. Good luck!!

    Thank you, next day and still dizzy & slight tummy upset. Called primary for a script for Meclazine. That ought to do it. But, boy! When that table moves, so does my stomach.
