Remember, NO googling or searching the Internet ALLOWED!!! GOOD LUCK :)

RIDDLE: You are in a room that is an 8x8x8 perfect cube. There are no windows, or doors (don't ask me how you got in there). In the center of the floor there is a 12 inch pipe that is sticking 6 inches out of the floor. In the bottom of the pipe is a ping pong ball with a diameter that is one millimeter smaller than the inner diameter of the pipe.

You have a 12 inch piece of string, a match, a magnifying glass, a 6" ruler and a paper clip.

How do you get the ping pong ball out of the hole?

    That would depend on how much I drank before I got in the room.

    You spit down into the pipe a number of times, until you've made an air tight seal between the sides of the ping pong ball and the pipe. Then you kick a hole in the wall so the air in the room rushes out into the surrounding vacuum. This will cause the small volume of air in the pipe below the ball to expand, pushing the ball up out of the pipe. Then quickly, before you expire, you toss the string, match, magnifying glass, ruler, and paper clip down into the now empty pipe.

    If this doesn't work the first time, try it again.

    I was wondering where my ping-pong ball went to!

    Or...have chemo before you go into the room.
    As we all know, many of us have fluids pouring out of every possible orifice within hours.

    You take one end of the string and tie it to the center of the ruler, you attach the paper clip to the other end of the string. You light the match and drop it down the pipe until the ball melts a little, blow out match, you hurry and drop the paper clip down the pipe into the melting plastic before it cools, using the magnifying glass to see where the match hit, after it cools, you use the ruler to pull it up. Then figure out how you got into the room to begin with and why you wanted the silly ping pong ball.
