Hello and how is everyone? wanted to know when should you call the doctor (onc)? for the ones of you who have read my other post i am now on oxygen when not at home for shortness of breath, well anyway all this weekend i have had nose bleed real bad ones but didn't call because didn't know if i should, i know having cancer and doing chemo makes you body go though some changes and i just don't want to call for just anything also have been having some real bad body pain, didn't call about that. so my question is when do you call?

    If I were you, I would call now. Your oncologist should know about this in my opinion.

    i was always told no matter the you should always contact you doctor. they need to know any problems . that is what they are there for and please do not wait sweetie i wish the very best.

    I think the most reason that i don't call is that i don't want them to tell me to go to the hospital i hate going to the ER just sitting there and when you get to the back sometimes the doctors or nurse act like you don't know what you are talking about when something is going wrong with your body the kinda look at you like you are crazy.you know the look like that cant be happening to you.like now my hair is starting to come out and it is making my head hurt(scalp)i was told it will stop hurting when all the hair comes out.

    Ok, Call on Monday
    Call tomorrow morning and report your nose bleeding.
    Then if he advise you come and see him.her in person. I would not go to emergency room, unless there is something critical, however you MUSt report your bleeding to your doctor.

    Had treatment to day and told the doctor about the nose bleed and they check my blood count and they were fine. the doctor did tell me to call the next time it happens. or if i start felling bad give them a call.

    Glad to hear you talked to dr. Treatments can do strange things to our bodies (and minds). I understand your fear of dreading to hear something bad and having to go to er. It seems dx of bc has taken our control and we are afraid to make any decision. I dream of the day when bc is not the most important thing in my life. Take good care of yourself. Marilyn

    Hi shortscake
    When my mother-in-law went on oxygen she had nose bleads.(no cancer) The oxygen dryes the membranes out. The Mayo clinic says to apply water based lubricants to the nose and add humidity to your home.

    Just thought that I would share. You might want to ask your dr about this.
