I know that our Mimi has been super busy with her application and I am glad she got it done and turned on. I, for one, will be saying my best prayers that this job is hers. She is a tough cookie, a go getter and deserves to have a crack at a great promotion.
For the weekend I will be working on some paperwork that needs to be done. I will wrap Christmas presents. That won't take long, we have a small family and Denise and Kyle do not like to go overboard with the kids and we respect that. I am hoping to take Den out for dinner. Monday is my next 3 month check up and I am expecting a clean bill of health. It should be very routine. I go for my next mammo in February so all this appointment is a check in for the arimidex which is going beautifully and a general look see. Maybe some blood tests but nothing to fret about.
So what's up with everyone else?

    Ok I will go first
Tonight My Guy (husband) and I are going out to a favorite Mexican eatery, should be nice. Tomorrow and Sunday we are going to finish installing the baseboards and hopefully put all the furniture back in place which will be fabulous! I cannot tell you how nice it will be to have most everything back in its place because I cannot decorate for Christmas until it is done. So of course I am hoping to put our tree up and our Christmas decor up. I will let you know if it gets done. Hope you all have a marvelous weekend. Stef thank you for starting thing thread as I have missed it.

    Guess???
My husband wants to take me out tomorrow night for an intimate dinner to really celebrate BIG my clean mammogram and ultrasound. And that sounds good to me. However, it seems that some of our family members and friends want in on it too. So, change of plans apparently. One of his sister's and her husband belong to a pretty fancy golf club here, so, they rented one of the rooms so that everyone could show up and celebrate with us. It might not be so intimate, but, it will be a lot of fun. And NO, Tiger Woods is not invited. LMAO! Sorry, I just had to throw that in.

    Happy Weekend Everyone!

    Lex,

    Lex,
I think that it is wonderful that you have so many family members and friends that wish to celebrate with you. You could always have an intimate brunch on Sunday with your hubby. But it says a lot that your have so many well wishers and you are obviously well loved. I say to revel in it and let them share the joy with you. They have been worried about you and need to celebrate this as well. So have a wonderful time, you deserve it.

Have a good time at the eatery. I will be hoping that you get the baseboards in place and can move on to decorating. And do let us know when it is complete. Or better still, post pictures. I love looking at how people do their decorating.

    Family Party
Our big family get together (about 50 of our closest cousins, aunts and uncles, etc.) will be tomorrow at my brother's house. I'm making Krumkake (Norweigan cookies) and Chinese Chicken Salad. My parents are down here for the holidays from Oregon and will be staying until after Christmas.

Also, will be trying to get as prepared as I can for next week - chemo starts on Wednesday, and I haven't even started any Christmas shopping yet - yikes!!!

Like a lot of you, I need to go Christmas shopping, so my husband and drove a ways to the big, ritzy-est mall to buy each other specific gifts. No wandering around though, just in and out (you know how men shop!) Then my son said his girlfriend would be coming over for dinner last night. Grabbed what was needed from the freezer for shrimp stir fry. Then we watched the movie, "Julie and Julia". Missed it when it was in theaters due to cancer treatment. While that was running, I was baking the last two recipes of cookies I had planned.
Today is my brother and sister-in-law's annual Christmas party for relatives and friends and clients. Very fancy. My contribution is the dozens and dozens of 6 kinds of Christmas cookies. Old family favorites: rum balls and Kolachkeys. My grand mother ran a catering business out of her house. We loved getting boxes of cookies from her when we left home.

Got to go early and help set up. Putting lights on the house later today. Got the guys here acid washing the pool while it's unusable. Then I have to put away the Thanksgiving things still sitting on the dining table, and set the table with the Christmas dishes, just for looks! I love Christmas!

Sunday: make breakfast for my husband and son (before he goes off to work). Then read the Sunday paper, write in my 'Gratitude Journal', say prayers for you-all, and START my Christmas cards! Have any of you gotten them out yet? Oh yeah, and do laundry. That happens every day, right? Sunday is the day I call my Dad, who lives alone, 3 thousand miles away, and a friend in Oregon who keeps the trailer park runniing that we stay in over the summer. He also lives alone.

    Do stretching exercises. Daily.

    Yesterday afternoon I
Yesterday afternoon I started some serious decorating! I attached fishing line to about 25 ornaments, and used clear push pins to attach them at varying heights all over my living-room ceiling! Very festive, if I say so myself! Today we are getting the tree so lights and the Most Special Ornaments, the ones from my Kindred Spirits, get the most prominant place!

Shopping is easy this year~ I have no money! LOL I am making gift cetificates for Reggie's girls. His eldest has an 8 week old baby and works full time, so I am making a "coupon booklet" of Free Housekeeping, Home Cooked Meal delivered, Babysitting, and the like. I hope to come up with 5 or 6 things she can use, and she can them redeem them from me as needed!

I am also doing similar with the 18 year old~ coupons that I will wash/dry/fold her laundry when she brings it up, Cook and Serve a romantic dinner ( here at my house) for her and her boyfriend, and a few other surprises I haven't come up with yet! Any suggestions are most welcome! :-)

My niece/daughter Siobhan and I splurged on each other, we are going to see Riverdance! I love that show, and she and I have seen it twice before, but this is their farewell show, and we are treating each other. And,Siobhan got straight A's this semester in college~ she deserves this gift!

Tonight, Reggie, Siobhan and I are going to a Gumbo and wine holiday dinner at the wine club we belong to. The owner is from Louisiana, thus the gumbo! It is a beautiful winery, and it should be a nice evening.

Thanks for substituting for Mimi on this thread, Stef!

    Have a great weekend, everyone!!

    Hugs,
    Chen♥

    I'm in resting mode. Still
I'm in resting mode. Still recouping from Tuesday's chemo. Watching hallmark christmas movies and sleeping. Want to rest as much possible, because next weekend my granddaughter Brooke will be here, and we hope to take her to MGM and Magic Kingdom to see the christmas lights and Small world. She's 9 1/2 months now and I'm sure she'll enjoy all the lights and music.
