Had a checkup with my onc today and she said there is definitely some reduction in my tumors, in fact she couldn't feel them, nor the one in the lymph node area. Femara is doing its job, which I was questioning. Before I started on Femara my tumors were 2.2cm and 1.5cm, another smaller one and lump in lymph node. Both the surgeon and onc could find them before. Now I'm waiting to talk with my surgeon, set up another 3D Ultrasound and schedule surgery. My surgeon says I'll have to have a masectomy but the onc said now maybe only a lumpectomy. Keep me in your prayers, please.

I hope you are able to do the lumpectomy only. But my prayers will be that you will conquer the beast and that the appropriate decision will be made.

Best wishes

So glad they are smaller and I hope that you may be able to have a lumpectomy. Very good news.

The smaller the lumps the better, and if you can get by with a lumpectomy, a lot less trauma to the bod.
Let us know how it works out

They shrunk mine before surgery too. I had a 6cm and 3cm and a smaller one. Glad to hear treatment is working. Hang in there!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Marcia, what therapy were you on before surgery and did you have lumpectomy or masectomy.

I was given 4 cycles of A/C before surgery. I had a radical modified mastectomy. My tumors were too large and aggressive, grade 3. After surgery I had 4 cycles of Taxotere and then 6 weeks of radiation.

Forgot to add that 2 of 15 nodes involved but surgeon could not say how many was involved before first 4 chemos.

I go back to my surgeon Dec. 11, to find out when she wants to schedule surgery. She probably will schedule more tests to see how much the tumors have shrunk. I hope she doesn't want to do surgery until after January. We've had plans all year to go to Florida for January and our family is going with us. I would hate to disappoint them and I definitely don't like winter in Missouri. Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
