I have been following your posts for a few weeks now. My husband is currently in treatment for Stage IV Colon Cancer. Are you sure at this time this is the right job for you. I sure would like to see you in a job with people around. Office setting, retail, something like that. Of course, if you need the income you do what you have to do. I wish you well and healing.

Hi Patty. I won't say if its a good or bad thing taking a job right now. That is up to the individual and their needs. All of us have to figure out when its time to move ahead. I do know that helping others is very hard work, but also very rewarding. And its really something you have experience at but wish you didn't. I won't tell you that its not hard on your emotions. Its never easy to lose someone we get close too. And I have never helped someone I didn't get close too. I have never forgotten the times I could of used a hug and someone to tell me everything was going to be ok. Keep an open mind and do the best you can. We all have limits and many things are out of our control. Never forget that you are quite special in a world that has too many takers and not enough givers. Best wishes Slickwilly

Well I did the caretaker, for now till I see if the job from walmart comes through, it was so hard, and I cried all afternoon, but i got left in a situation when I gave up my apartment and job, to take care of Jack which I dont regret, I just regret having to go back to that work so soon, I need the money so I have to do what I have to do until something else comes through, I just have to put my emotions to the side and do my job, and it is different with being a careaker for Jack and just a client, Jack was always nice to be, I had to bite my tongue and just be strongI wanted to walk out so bad som mny times, but I need to work im jst praying all comes out ok with walmart, i was hired but I had to take a drug test and one night i took 3 of Jacks marinol just to relax so im not sure if that will shoe up cuz i cant remember when i did it, and when jack passed i was so upset I took his valium so I dont know im jst waiting

Stay strong. You are doing what you need to do to get back on your feet again. You are much stronger than you think. Many people could not cope with what is on your plate like you do.
