I haven't been on the board lately. Was in the hospital. My wbc tanked 3.9 to 1.7 in three days. Fever over 100. I am finally home. wbc 33.0 now. I am still tired this whole ordeal has worn me out. I will be getting shots now after chemo as standard plan. Wasn't part of my original protocol. I thought about all of you and kept you all in my prayers. Lola I checked the boards it looks like you are doing well. I will read more tomorrow and catch up. You were all cheering me on even though you didn't know. I knew others had been through this. As always this too shall pass.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that after your first Chemo! Sounds like you will have the Neulasta shot. It will truly help! Maybe try drinking Boost or Ensure, it has helped me keep my counts up especially since I can't eat too well these days. Get lots of rest and let us know how you're doing when you can. In the meantime, you will be in our thoughts & prayers!
Hugz,
Cathy

Now I know why I was on house arrest for 7 days .. 2,500 wbc count .. now I am up to 8,900 as of last Tuesday, 11/3.

I am scared out of my mind as my wbc counts go up and down, depending on my chemo week .. Bless you.

Stay strong and get plenty of rest .. Boost is much better tasting, in my opinion, than ensure.

Love and prayers to you, Becky.

I am sooo glad you are back home~ we miss all of our warrior-sisters terribly when they are not here for a few days! If, by the shot you mean Neulasta, many of us had it too, including me. For some it does cause side effects; about 36 hours after the injection, all 206 bones in our bodies can ache, as the white cell production is being speeded up~ picture all of your bones being tubes of toothpaste and the last dregs of Colgate are being squeeeezed from them! It may last about 3 to 5 days, and you can take Tylenol ! I am by no means saying any of this to scare you~ many of us have no adverse side effects at all, but my oncologist never even told me about the possibilities, so when I stated to ache for "no apparent reason" I was scared out of what was left of my mind! This is just a forewarned/forearmed!

Take care of yourself and make it "all about you". for as long as you need to...remember that we have your hand in ours and walk your journey with you. Thanks for posting
Hugs,
Chen♥

Becky, just a bump in the road. Glad to hear you're home and doing well. I, too, took the Nuelasta shot and had some bone pain usually 3-4 days after the shot. It was tolerable with Tylenol. Wishing minimal side effects for you, too. Rest and take care.

i was in the hospitl with gi issues causing pain and diahrea- dehydration coount was 1.2 on neulasta. I did not have a hard time on neulasta except the Gi issues which kicked in 4 days after. they said it was not from that. On chemo who knows. glad you are out and feeling better. hope your next treatments go well.

Oh, Sweetie...I am so sorry. I hope that you are resting and building up those WBCs this minute. I had the Neulasta shot from the get go and did just fine. When A/C was done, I was switched to Neupogen while I was on Taxol. My wbc's stayed normal throughout. You are in my prayers! xoxoxoxo Lynn

I was not on any shot until the drop. Now have had three neupogen shots and that is the protocol now for next chemo which is next week if all goes well. Thanks again for being here.
