    So Sorry
    Hey Sweetie,

It's worth a call to your Onc. or chemo nurese. I had a swollen arm and they had me come in. They ran some tests to make sure I didn't have a blood clot. (all ok) Another time I started out with swollen ankles and then my whole body swelled up but that ended up being due to the prep for a colonoscopy. Not trying to scare you, just want you to be safe. A phone call never hurts. Please let us know how you are.

    God Bless You,

    OK....
I did call the doctor's office just now, but she was unavailable, and her nurse told me to elevate my feet for now and she will give me a call back to talk to me as well :) God, I don't want to go to the hospital again! Now I'm skeered :(

    Hi Donna,
They check my ankles every time I see the Doctor, I don't know why, I've never had swollen ankles, but one of the Nurses told me swollen ankles during Chemo is a sign of excessive water retention due to kidney problems. You should call your Chemo Nurse and tell her ASAP. some of those Chemo Chems are especially hard on your kidneys.

How's your blood pressure? Please Keep us informed.

    Cankles
I have cankles at times too. The chemo can make you retain water. They also may want to check your magnesium levels, that can cause cankles. Just be thankful you don't have crwrists.

    Thanks all!
The nurse just called and said it was very normal, as long as they were the same size, but if one remains bigger then the other, and my calves start to hurt, I get soreness or redness in that area, and have difficulty breathing I must call her tonight and come in, (nice 2 hour drive to show her my cankles)... thanks for reading up for me Buzzi, I'm going to go read it now, and Phil, the crwrists just cracked me up LOL...oh, tI barely have wrists at all, it be nice to see a little gain in them! LOL

    Hugsssss all!!!

    Whew
Glad that you were able to hear back from the nurse and that is normal. I agree to put your feet up and rest a bit. Hope that after a while your "cankles" start going down. Maybe you should drink more water, I always heard that flushes things through your system faster. Stay out of the hospital - we don't want you there anymore :)
