Hello - how is everyone getting along? Hope everyone was able to enjoy the holiday yesterday. I've been reading the postings today - I try to read them everyday now. It's like a connection that I don't have anywhere else. It's been a long day - work was really busy after the 3-day holiday break. I'm glad it's just a 4-day work week this week. Yesterday (Labor Day) I wasn't feeling great. I started feeling warm and took my temp - it was up a little - later on in the day it hit 101.4 so I took some motrin which brought it down to 100. Today, it went to 100.8, so I took some motrin when I got in from work and got in bed to rest for a little while. I've had fever a lot higher than this before so I'm not upset about it nor do I think everything is getting all out of whack suddenly. Just so you'll know, it's not an infection from low white count (neutropenia from chemotherapy) because I haven't been on chemotherapy for about 7 weeks. I had labs done a couple of weeks ago and everything looks really good. I haven't run a fever in a long time - probably like 7 or 8 months. Hopefully, my tumors haven't started to spread-I've thought about that. I think I will call my oncologist's office tomorrow and tell them I need to come in - that I've been running a temp., plus I need to talk to him about possible next steps. I worry about that some - what I'm going to have to try next. I'm going to ask him about ablation therapy - I know there are people on this site who have had this done on their livers and it has helped. I don't live in that large of a city and they don't do those kinds of procedures where I am so I know I will have to travel for something like that. We talked last time about looking for a trial somewhere - I don't know how I would work that - going several or many states away for a trial. I'll have to ask more about that. I saw my internist last week - he's been my doctor for 13 years - he's just amazed at how well I'm doing and that the cancer hasn't overtaken me/run away with me as he puts it. We have a great relationship - I always feel good after seeing him. Anyway, I'm just on here to talk right now - it's getting late and I will go to bed soon. Wishing everyone a good night and a good day tomorrow. Everyone is in my thoughts. Take care. Roy

    Fever
Hi Roy! I would definitely drop in on your onc tomorrow. A fever isn't a good sign, and it is possible you have an infection. Especially if it keeps coming back. My doctors always told me to get to an ER if my temp got as high as yours has. I hate the ER, and that's probably what they'll have you do if you call them. I would just drop by. I don't see how they could turn you away.

I hope everything is okay. You've had a lot of chemo, and the build up sometimes gets worse up to several months afterwards.

    Hugs,
    Krista

    Hi Krista
    Hi Krista:

Thanks for responding to me - I appreciate that. Today is Thursday and I haven't run a temp today which is good. I saw my oncologist today and he didn't have much to say about the temp -they drew a bunch of lab and cultures - I don't really expect anything from it. He said he was sorry that I haven't been feeling well. Mainly we talked for a long time about what we are going to do next - he's found that there are no trials for me right now so we talked about some other options. I'll probably put a new post out there asking some questions. How are you doing? Take care, Roy
