Day 5 of Sue's Rads

Wow, 5 days has gone by already. This has gone really fast so far. I hope it doesn't drag bad towards the end.

Today we got there a little early and we got to sit in the waiting room longer and we got to talk to some of the patients. The throat cancer lady is so nice. Her hubby wasn't there at the moment, so, she freely spoke to me. She just said that the cancer has scared him to death and he is afraid of losing her. My hubby just looked at her and in his very deep voice said " I know how he feels." I almost lost it. I teared up, but, kept myself together. I think I feel worse for him than myself. This is so hard on our loved ones, isn't it?

He had a bag of black walnut taffy for me and gave it to me when we went for an early dinner. I LOVE black walnut taffy. OOPS, I have some stuck in my teeth now. UGH

Well, the weekend is here! YIPPEE! Suppose to be great weather and I am taking my rad body, OMG, I can say that now, and, enjoying these days off! I have a RAD BODY! lol

    It is hard on our loved ones. I think at first I just felt so sorry for myself that I didn't even think about my hubby, family and friends. Since then, I know how hard it is on them and appreciate their caring for me.

    I enjoy your posts Sue and am very happy that they are going fast for you. It is nice that you are getting to know some of the other people there. I made some very good friends there and still see and talk to them, and, I bet you will too. Enjoy this weekend with no zapping!

    Well, I can say it now. I am RAD! Too funny huh? I don't think when we are diagnosed that we think of anyone else except ourselves at the first. Later yea, but, not at the diagnosis.

    And, yes FIVE down! Yea for me!

    Hey Sue
    You are doing great Sue. If you are like me, you will make a lot of friends there, and, you sound like you already are. I got very attached as it became such a routine. I was one of those that were lost when it was done, but, am doing fine now. But, that is aways off for you. Take care of your skin and get lots of sleep. Happy Labor Day Weekend to you!

    Glad you like my posts. I may just go to doing it weekly. I don't want to bore people. Just hoping that I can help someone a little maybe. They are going fast. That surprises me. But, hubby and I are making it fun, and, that makes a huge difference. I will enjoy the 3 days off! Thanks!

    way to go sue on day five glad it went well 3 days off weeeeeeee my hubby pampering me this weekend we have family coming in and he is cooking last night filled my jacuzziup he lit my candles up and we talked for hour and today he has a great meal planned we have 22 family members coming tody god bless enjoy your 3 days off to luv peggy he cooks so good on grill i love his cooking lol i get to supervise no cooking for me lol

    hi, i'm so glad you're doing this in a daily basis. I have one more chemo on Sept 21st, radiologist oncology appt on Sept 16th to get all measurements. I'm assuming i will start my rads last wk of September. It is nice to see how you dealing with tx. I look forward to read your journey everyday...May God Bless you....

    You have 5 down already! Glad it is going fast for you and happy that you are having a chance to meet some of the other patients. I still keep in touch with some of the ones I met. You seem to form a bond with them, that noone else has. Enjoy your 3 days off from rads!

    I am glad that you like my daily diary of rads Taina! Like I wrote above, it would be great and an honor if I did help someone. Rads are not scary, so, do not be afraid of them. I will help you in anyway that I can. I have done 5 now! YIPPEE! lol

    Sue, I love your Garfield dancing! Very cute! You are doing great with your rads. I am impressed. I know you will help a lot of newbies on here that are starting as you are so confident and calm about the treatments, which you should be.
