This is the list of daVinci certified surgeons in Mass - http://www.davinciprostatectomy.com/locator/surgeon_list.aspx?specialtyId=444&&&stateId=6246&countryId= It's from the device manufacturer's website.

To be certified by the manufacturer they have to attend training then complete 20 procedures. A daVinci surgeon my son knows said the learning curve is very steep and it's best to find someone that has done at least 100 procedures. My son is a surgeon and he said it is not unusual, or insulting, for a patient to ask how many of a specific procedure he has done, how recent and how often he does it. My surgeon is in the top 10 in the world with >1700 procedures currently does >200/year and now limits his practice to daVinci, someone on the net said his surgeon had done >3000. Want to come to Texas? Here is my surgeon's website - http://www.prostatecenterofaustin.com/

I think the doctors doing prostrate surgery, open and daVinci, are not oncologists but urologists. They typically do 1 or 2 years of a general surgery residency in conjunction with their urology residency.

Good luck, we're in a club that really sucks, regretably there are a lot of us and it seems to be a very close knit and supportive group.

Thanks TXBarton for replying. The Link was very helpful. I wonder if we have a well experienced Robotic urologist in our Boston Area as you have in Austin. I am sure if any of our group has any one in mind will share it with us. God Bless.
