    Is this related to having
Is this related to having surgery recently, lymph node removal or treatments? I feel for you maryln. I developed a large pelvic hematoma about a week after surgery. Hurt like the dickens!! Nothing could be done...just wait for the body to absorb it. Hope you feel better soon.

    I had open abdominal
I had open abdominal surgery, couldn't remove the cancer due to the extent, so they stapled me back together after removing 12 lymph nodes in pelvic/abdominal area. Whenever they remove lymph nodes there is always the chance of lymphodema (swelling & blockage of lymph fluid) developing and it needs to be monitored by your MD. If you saw your doc already, they would have noticed it right away.
Although scared when my pelvic hematoma started, I knew to remain calm and keep an eye on it (important to make sure it had a stopping point) as I am an RN and worked for years on a surgical floor. I did contact my surgeon and they had me pop in for a visit. It was a result of blood and fluids built up in my abd/pelvic area after the surgery...my body could not absorb anymore so it did the only thing it could...puddle at it's lowest point. My pelvic area and inner thighs were very swollen, painful, and purple/black in color. Just like any bruise, I just had to ride it out until my body absorbed it. It was not a fun ride!
Never second guess new developments that are happening to you...always call your doc...that's what their there for!
Hope your feeling better at this time.

swelling thighs-pain on public hair line -
thanks for the education....i think i need to get a different doctor..my doctor never told me what it was..i told him at 2 week check up i had this pain he looked and said it was nothing...

later that day i went to my gyn and he said "accumualation of blood or inflamation and it would go away....

your explanation seems clearer and now i can be in peace..knowing it will go away at some point..

i have problems communicating with the ocologist..i think it is my problem...there is a woman
at the cancer center i think i will try her since i will be in the care for the next 5 years

just knowing makes me feel better
