So, I had my MRI needle guided biopsy of that area near the chest wall Thursday (which I might add is the least dignified positioning.. and there is no lady like way to get into position)... They followed up this wonderful procedure with a mammogram of that breast... as if to add insult to injury... and don't you know last night my husband brought in the mail...and there was a notice from the breast clinic.... are you ready for this one...hold on... here it is..it said...

"Your mammogram that was performed on you left breast in our clinic on August 20th has come back abnormal... please consult with the ordering physician as soon as posible"... All I could say was "Duh"... OMG... Is this some sort of sick and twisted joke... lol... no really I thought it would come back with "no evidence of disease... please remember to schedule your next mamo in Aug 2010" I mean come on, really???

Too funny!

    Me too!
That happened to me too Teleena! I received my letter over one month after I had my Mammo. I contacted the center and asked what was up? I was told they are computer generated letters and sent automatically whenever an abnormality is reported. I said let me guess....the printer was down? There was a shortage of paper? It was walked from your center to my mailbox? or (this was the best one!) you now outsource that job to somewhere over seas? Then I had the priviledge of telling them that is why I went out of state for treatment and I am healing form my surgery just fine in case they wanted to know! Pammy

I am insulted by treatment of medical facilities
I too, did not get my results from the mammo - center. I called and called until I was blue in the face. I call my obgyn office, and asked for help. 2 days later obgyn office called back stated that my doctor wanted me to contact 1 of 2 general surgeons for lumpetomy (sp ? I am missed - sorry). No my obgyn did not call me personally, no has he since my mammo results. I feel like a number, not a woman with abnormal results.

Hello .. it's been 7 weeks, and no follow up call from my obgyn or his staff. I've been a patient of this doctors for over 8 years.

As usual, I expect too much.

    mammo report
    Hi,
When I go in for a mammogram they always make me fill out an evelope with my name and address, so the can shoot it to me right away, I am told.
Than never happens, my abnormal report came after I had been back for ultrasound w/ biopsy(in the same department no less), I had seen the general surgeon, been to the heart doc. for ok for surgery and was getting ready for my appt with a breast cancer specialist. But I am sure they are really proud of their paperwork getting done.
