Stopping Treatment - What will happen?

Ok, so I need some help with this. My mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of June. Had a lumpectomy to remove the tumor along with lymph nodes under her arm. She's had all her tests and so far we've been told that the cancer hasn't spread. She just started her chemo treatments on 8/7/09 and will been going every other week up until December due to the rare form she has. She's decided to stop her treatments because of how much they're costing her. So, what happens next?? What are her risks of it coming back?? I need some help, I'm worried that if she does stop everything right now that it may spread and it will go undetected and that we will loss her. So any info and advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. Also, do you know if there are any payment assistance programs through the American Cancer Society?

    Contact the American Cancer Society they may be able to assit you in finding help in paying for the treatment, there are options out there,

    Is there a social worker at her treatment center. If so, she can talk to the social worker about receiving financial assistance... Stopping treatment will cost her much more, meaning her health and maybe her life. I think she is not thinking straight at this point,you are right if she stops treatment, the cancer will spread. I will keep her in my prayers that she receives the help she needs

    The ACS and the Susan B.
    The ACS and the Susan B. Komen foundation and check with the cancer center. They usually have programs for patients that need treatment and can't pay.

    First breast cancer, and now the cost of chemo. All new to me.

    My heart goes out to you Nikki, mother in law and family. So I have no information, but I will offer all good thoughts and prayers.
