I my name is gerr66, i just joined the network last night.

I had a hysterectomy a month ago and will be having my lymph nodes removed. My question is to have it done robotically or have an
open incision. Anyone has any direction please respond.

blessings,
gerri

I had my lymph nodes removed robotically when I also had the hysterectomy done. They removed 21 lymph nodes. I know recovery time is much quicker with robotic surgery. Good luck with your surgery.

I also had my hysterectomy and lymph nodes removed robotically. Much quicker recovery time. Happy I did it that way. Good luck!

Well the report from my D&C wasn't alarming. My doctor didn't i had anything worry about just the removal of uterus. After hysterectomy surgery the report was a 1C. So now i did the lymph nodes done and i decided to have it by open abdomen.
I am very new to this and have been doing a lot of reading and the cancer center sent me a book to review. Thanks for asking

HI

I HAD A SMALL BLOODY DISCHARGE THAT MADE ME GO TOGYN..SHE DID THE BIOSY,PAP AND ORDER TRANSVAGINAL ULTRASOUND...ALL 3 TESR INDICATED CANCER AND TUMOR

I WENT TO OCOLOGIST-GYN AT UNIV OF PENN..HE SAID HE THOUGHT THAT THE CANCER WAS CONTAINED
BUT HE WOULD DO HYSTERECTOMY AND CHECK THE LYMPH NODES TO BE SURE NO SPREADING HAD OCCURRED
HE SAID NO MANNER HOW GOOD IT LOOKS YOU ALWAYS HAVE LYMPOH NOSE DISSECTION TO BE SURE

AFTER A 6 HOUR OPERATION HE CLOSED ME UP..HE NEVER DID THE LYMPH NODES...HIS REASONING
"HE DID NOT THINK I HAD CANCER"

AFTER 12 DAYS I CALLED AND GOT THE PATHOLOGY REPORT..IT HAD BEEN DONE FOR 10 DAYS NOONE CALLED ME...THE PATH REPORT INDICATED EXACTLY WHAT THE TEST SAID I HAD...EXCEPT THE CANCER
WAS IN THE MUSCLE IN THE UTERUS AND IT WAS PROTRUDING ...AND THERE WAS LYMPH VASUCULAR INVASION

SO NOW I NEED THE LYMPH NODES CHECKED..ANOTHER SURGERY....I GOT A NEW SURGEON AND HE WENT IN AND PULLED THE NODES...DISSECTION CAN ONLY BE DONE WHEN THE TUMOR IS IN THE BODY..MY TMOR WAS REMOVED....

I AM TOLD IT IS RARE THAT ENDO CANCER STAGE 1 SPREAZDS TO NODES BUT SINCE THESE WAS LYMPHVASUCULAR INVASION THERE WAS A 12 PERCENT CHANCE....I AM NOT A RUSSIAN ROULETTE
TYPE OF PERSON..

WE ARE LUCKY ENDO CANCER I HEARD IS LESS AGGRESSIVE CANCER...BUT IF IY SPREADS IT CAN BE LIKE THE OTHERS////SEEMS LIKE U CAUGHT YOURS EARLY..GOOD LUCK WITH SURGERY
