My husband is battling back

Hello everyone. I have been away from the boards for awhile. A few weeks ago, my husband, who is stage iv lung cancer with mets, woke up in the middle of the night, like he always does, and I got up to help him, like I always do. Within five minutes he was gasping for air and just collapsed. When the emt's arrived, they told me he was "near death" and "didn't have very long." Well you can imagine how I felt, and my older two kids heard all of this-- they are 13 and 18-- but luckily we live literally two minutes from the hospital, so to make a long story short, after a few days in the icu, he came home and is battling back. Even though I know I'm going to lose him eventually, I just feel like a miracle brought him back to me for a little bit longer. We have been having such a hard time with the sadness, the stress, money worries, the kids ( I also have a three year old), there have times when I just want to run away from home, but when I saw my husband so close to death right before my eyes, and have him come back to me-- I feel so grateful. I know there are more hard times to come--it's only going to get harder--but I'm going to be grateful for the good while I've got it. All my best wishes to everyone. You have helped me more than I can say.
Betty

There are no words to say, but I'm so glad to got this little miracle! The ENT people were out of line telling you he was near death especially with your kids in the room. People just don't think before they open their mouths!! Hang in there!!
