    I can relate
I miss my baby girl too, and to think she is about to have one of her own, I just cant believe where the time went. Looking forward to being a grandma but just found out I am moving 3 states away. Thats going to kill me, moving away from both of my babies. Is she your youngest or only one? I only have the one. Well just wanted to let you know you are not alone in feeling this way.

My oldest is 15 and she is
My oldest is 15 and she is an allstar cheerleader. When we used to go out of town for competitions she always wanted to be with me, now she wants to hang out with the other cheerleaders. I know it will get worse with every year but I already miss my baby girl. Last year was even worse because I was always in the hospital durning competition season, so she became attached to another cheer mom! UGH! Well, at least I have two little boys that still need their mommy!

    where have our babies gone?
I have just one son, who is almost 33. Almost 5 yrs ago he decided to move away from NY and go all the way to Colorado! The week before he was to drive cross country, I woke up every night with a panic attack, thinking my baby is really leaving!! It was extremely hard for me because not only was he the only one, but I became a single mom when he was only 7 months. Believe me, I talk to him everyday, sometimes more than once but it's not the same as living close by.

We raise our children to be independant and to be able to stand on their own two feet, but then when they do, we wish they still needed us! Even though my baby (and he'll always be my baby)lives far and has his own family, I know that he still needs me,and that's good enough for me!

    Kids....
Julie, my 'kids' are now 38, 34, 32 and 15. Three out of the four are boys. The girl is 34. I'm much closer to my boys than the girl. I well remember the day I bought her a used car..... Bye, Bye, Erin!

The grown boys are in contact virtually every day by phone, email or Facebook. I hear from the girl when SHE has news. Our 15 year old son (legally adopted from said daughter) is home schooled and just a joy! Be thankful for every day you share with her! They grow up so quickly.

Thanks everyone it is nice to know it happens to all of us at one time or another...She is my only child.. My husband says but you have me!!! Well I love him dearly but ......its just not the same...Even though she still lives at home (but is never home)I guess its time to figure out things to do for just the two of us...I am sure that will take some adjustment because we like to do different things than each other so we shall see what happens.....Thanks again JULIE

    I have a 2 1/2 year old and
I have a 2 1/2 year old and 7 month old twins. Feel free to stop by and hold babies anytime!

By the way, they're all girls so I am planning on them all skipping over adolescence. Oh, except I planned on the oldest one skipping over the terrible twos and that didn't really work out very well...

    Yes Transfer
With my job to just outside of San Antonio, but it wont be till November, so we have time, and yes I dont want to move away without getting the chance to meet you too. Let me know. The weekdays are hard cuz I work long hours and live so far away from you. But weekends are good, like I said just let me know.

    Welcome to TEXAS
    Hi Beth

Congrats on your job and welcome to Texas a few months early!

We got plenty of room down here for another semi; :)

I'll be about 5 hours north of you up I-35 to Dallas/Fort Worth.

I'll think you like San Antonio - be sure to check out the RiverWalk - that's the happening area in San Antonio - it's a river through the town and there are restaurants and bars and shops along side the canal way there. Boat ride on the river for sightseeing. You'll like it.

Take care and best of luck in your move

    Empty Nesting
Ah yes - we can all relate. 18 is one of those ages- especially between Mom's and daughters. They are finding themselves and gaining independence and need to be on their own. My kids are now 26 and 29. At this juncture and for the last few years we have more contact than ever and have a wonderful relationship.

    kids
My kids are 16 (son), 13 yr old daughter, and 9 yr old daughter. So, two teenagers in the house gets crazy sometimes. My 13 yr old just changed in the past 6 months from a lovely, sweet, helpful daughter, to a moody thing who tells me often "Mom, you're ruining my life" (because I dare to stand near her in the dept. store when she's looking at clothes, etc. It's lovely- she does have her occasional days of saying she's sorry and being sweet again. My 16 yr old son wants desperately to be 18 so we "can't tell him what to do anymore". I occasionally have good heart to heart talks w/ him, but there's always disagreement everytime he's told to do anything he doesn't want to do & it's not like we smother him- he actually has a lot more freedom than some- we just want him to do his share around here!
My 9 yr old is being treated for depression. It's tough sometimes. My cancer doesn't help, but that's not the cause- it runs in the family- I see it somewhat in my other two kids as well as in my husband. Here, I'm the one with the cancer & I feel like I've got the most positive outlook of anyone in my family!

Lord- help me! (and I believe He does!)

    I know
where you are coming from. I only had one child, my wonderful son. He is now 26 yrs old and living in Chicago, IL (moved in 2008). I really miss him dearly. We just got back from a visit over the weekend. Went to the Arlington Million Horese Race. Very nice and had a great time.

It is strange to still come home and not hear him or see him roaming around the house. I do still have my hubby and my brother-in-law, but it is not the same.

You raise your kids to the best of your ability and instill the values and morles you can and then you tell them to spread your wings and fly. Watching them achieve greatness is our reward :)

    I have four amazing
I have four amazing children, 19, 9 and just turned 4 year old twins. My 19 son had a break from school and was visiting. I drove him to the airport this morning. It has been a sad day around here. Our visit was wonderful, we juiced everyday and took some Bikram Yoga classes. The family was able to reconnect. This was the first time I'd seen him since I was dx. I'm excited to see where all their journey's in life will take them.
