Has anyone had CMF chemo? I've finished my 4th of 8 treatments, dose dense. My oncologist says it is well tolerated by most people. I was ill for the first couple of treatments but now I think we have the right combo of anti-nausea drugs and steroids. I'd be interested to hear about anyone else's experience. Thanks.

Good for you, half way done...
My chemo was different, so can't specifically address yours. But 4 of 8 out of the way is good news, good for you. Hope all goes well for you, as you finish.

It's late, this is where by brain goes...
    Hi, Debra -

I'm sorry, I have nothing constructive to contribute to this conversation, except...a chemo drug that has FU in the name?!? Oh come on, there has to be some cosmic significance in that.

    I didn't do chemo so I can't
I didn't do chemo so I can't speak to this combination but I am sure someone will. But I did use Flourouracil in a topical form for skin cancer. It does something to the RNA which in turn does something with the DNA and that helps to stop the cells from doing their rapid dividing. It is possible that this is doing the same thing when it is infused as chemo. One of our gals just had a melonoma removed and I was trying to remember the name of the topical I was given with my squamous cell skin cancer and when you posted this I knew that this was what I was given. I know this doesn't help you much and I hope that someone can chime in and help you but I think that it is possible the flourouracil works the same way topically or infused. I do hold good thoughts and prayers that your treatment goes as smoothly as possible.

    Hi
I had FEC x3 and taxotare x3. so FU and C. were in the first load.
I was fine with the antinausea stuff, the steroids were not nice though.

    Hope this helps Jxxxxxxx
