Any idea how to get additional coverage for chemo drugs during the treatment. My insurance covers only 50%. Can I be denied treatment if I can not afford to pay more?

    Hi Luana56 and Welcome! I
Hi Luana56 and Welcome! I didn't have chemo, so, I don't really know. But, check with your hospital and also check with the ACS and the Susan B. Komen Foundation. I think they all can offer your some assistance or at least put you in touch with someone that will.

And, no, you can't be denied your chemo that I am aware of. No hospital or cancer center will turn you down.

    Hang in there!

    Hi Luana
Hey Luana! I am so sorry that your insurance will only cover half of your chemo. But, I am sure you can get assistance or even free treatment at most hospitals. Just let them know your situation. Don't be shy about it.

During rads, I met a woman that had no insurance and the doctor's and the radiation treatments were being given to her for free. Also, she got rides daily from the program from ACS.

So, you continue your chemo and get yourself well! We are here to support and help you!

    Hugs, Jeanne

Luana, you just need to talk
Luana, you just need to talk to whatever cancer center you are getting your treatment at now. I am sure they will help you in anyway possible. Good luck to you!
