What to expect after PET scan?
I plan on adding more details about her situation later because you all of a wealth of knowledge and information that has been very helpful so far (I've been lurking for weeks).

Welcome....
I did the same thing. I eavesdropped for a while before I made myself known. You just don't know what to believe these days. But welcome. When I had my PET scan, they were looking for other signs of the cancer spreading. My Doctor sat down with me and basically went over all the results. All that was found was tumors/cyst on my ovaries. We talked about a treatment plan which I should be starting soon here. Good luck tomorrow. This is a very reliable site for information with wonderful people to support each other. Let us know how it goes. Your a wonderful daughter to be by her side. It is important that she has someone with her at her appointments to take notes.Pammy

Thank you Pammy! I feel so nervous right now because I know we are going to discuss treatment plans. So far Mom hasn't been sick but I know that's all going to change if she starts chemo and radiation. She's in good spirits now (was really depressed after first learning of the recurrence) and she's ready to fight.
It's so sad because we had a family get together the other day and it seemed like everyone that does not see her on a regular basis was already telling her their goodbyes. We'll show them though! -
momschild......
Hello and welcome.
My surgeon went over the PET scan with me and told me that my lymph nodes "lit up" on the scan. So going into surgery, we already knew that nodes were involved.
The scan will show if there is any cancer in other areas.
Best to you & your Mom. And hey, it's WAAAAAAAAAAAY too early for anyone to be saying good byes!!!
Hugs,
CR
