edited March 2014 in Breast Cancer #1
One year ago today, I completed the 33rd and final radiation treatment for my breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy, followed by an Oncotype test, chemo therapy, hair loss, nail problems, aches and pains, radiation and a fatigue. BUT, here I am today with a full head of hair, healthy nails, decent eyebrows and lashes, and feeling better and more energetic than I did before I was diagnosed. I’m so very, very happy and grateful.

God is good, cancer doctors and nurses are dedicated and caring, family is loving and supportive, the people on this CSN site are fantastic, and LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.

I wish for you all who are starting out on your journey and those who are in the midst of that journey -- hope, strength and courage to hang in there. I’m here to tell you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep your eye on the prize. I love you all. Hugs, Marilynn

    wonderful milestone Marilyn
always good to get another year past the treatment. I am on approx 18 months out of my last rads. Yes, we do get over it and most of the hair is back in it's rightful spots, except some of those eyebrows have strayed down to the chin area!!! imagine that!

Thank you Marilynn for sharing your milestone with us and what a milestone it is! It just goes to show that even though we endure all the things you have mentioned we can still come out more polished then the jewel we were before all this occurred. It is a transformation of sorts, not one I would wish on anyone but still we change as a result. I am truly happy for you and wish you many, many more years to worship your God, Love your Family, visit with us and to fully enjoy the life you have fought so hard to keep.

    Congrats my friend,

    RE

Congratulations!!! Keeping my eyes on the the prize!
