Has anyone tried Thyrogen injections so they didn't have to go off synthyroid?

My endo said I won't have to go off my thyroid Rx if I take Thyrogen injections the two days before my I131 treatment. Has anyone done this? How did it go?

I had the injections right after my thyroidectomy on 7/30/08 and this week, I had the 2 injections and radioactive pills for my scan on Friday. I had no side effects from it that I am aware of - no pain or anything out of the ordinary.

Thanks for the info. I had my injections yesterday and today and tomorrow is the big day for the I-131 treatment. So far so good.

i am a 26 year survivor and i've had thyrogen injections a few times. much better than going off synthroid-each time i went off synthroid i was tired, my mind was fuzzy and i could hardly function. each time, the symptoms were worse, too. no adverse reaction to thyrogen. good luck!
