So my mom learned that there is something in the thyroid, but we don't know what it is yet and she is scheduled for a biopsy on xmas eve. She really didn't get any news that she didn't already know. Her doctor was awesome. She feels really comfortable with him and he is delicately agressive. I think she is in good hands whether it turns out to be something or not.

    update
Thanks for the update, Krystie. I'm glad that your mom now has talked to the doctor and in a way, the worst is over. She was so stressed worrying that there might be something wrong and now that she knows there is something there, but not what it is, it almost comes as a sense of relief... the knowing and even better, that the doctor is going to do something about it.

There are times when I just don't want to know anymore... information overload. But I have to admit, I do best when I know what we are dealing with and even better, how are we going to attack/deal with it??

    Huggggs,

    Cheryl

    Thank you for the update
Kristie, you and your mother are in my prayers. It has been such a tough ride for you guys lately, I pray that you are able to enjoy the holidays. For sure, the unknown is so much harder to deal with. Once you know what you are dealing with, you can plan and move ahead strong. It sounds like your oncologist is another angel and I am so glad your mother feels comfortable with him and his decisions; that is SO important, as you are finding out. Will you have a definite early date for the biopsy results? Waiting over Christmas would be agony! You are doing such a great job, I am sure your mother thanks God for you every day!

    thanks for caring
I really appreciate your responses. It means a lot to me that 1. people actually read this, and 2. that you care to respond.

The past year has been a weird ride, but I'm thankful for the beautiful things I've seen happen along the way.

We got the earliest biopsy test and the doc sees no reason for delay. We are going to expedite this as much as possible and if she needs to have her thyroid out, so be it.
