swollen lymph node

I'm three years out from chemo.All my scans have been clean but four days ago I noticed a swollen lymph node in my groin, about one centimeter big. It is painless and moves freely. Funny thing is about a year ago i had this same node swell up without pain and after about two weeks it went away.My ocologist didn't seem concerned then since it didn't show on the scan and was going down anyway. Still, I don't like swollen lymph nodes that don't hurt. Of course I'm calling the Doctor tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience?

    Good news as far as I'm
    Good news as far as I'm concerned. Went to my doctor today and found that I have a hernia, most definately. That area in my groin doesn't even have lymph nodes, so I'm happy about that. I can handle Hernia. I have proven once again to myself that I am not a good doctor when it comes to diagnosis.

    Just another classic example where those of us who have been through, or are still fighting the battle... are super aware of any teeny, tiny change to our bodies. Can you even remember, pre-diagnosis when we never noticed anything? And we never thought of having to "fight" for survival... let alone the thought of death? The majority of the world (ok, maybe I exaggerate a little bit, but you know what I mean), go through life complaining about the little things in life and have no idea what true warriors go through... and you know, that is not a bad thing. There are days when I wish I was back in the days where my head was empty of these kinds of awareness. Ignorance can sometimes really be bliss :)

    Hi. I had an enlarged lymph node in my groin, soon after my diagnosis. About 1 cm. I was alarmed, and my oncologist was concerned. My surgeon thought it was probably nothing. In the end, I had it surgically removed. It was nothing (i.e. not malignant). I'm NOT saying don't go to the doctor! But, I do want to share my story and let you know it is possible to have a swollen node in the groin which is perfectly benign. Maybe our bodies fighting something off -- and that is a good thing!

    Nodes
    Swollen Nodes are a sign of any type of infection in the body. A scratch from a cat can cause nodes under the arms to swell. Although every time we have nodes swell its a "lump in the throat" syndrome, but that is the bodies ways of letting us know that we are getting a sore throat or a cold or many different things, we just have to be assured that its not something else because we are first thought people and our first thoughts are usually the cancer is back. It doesn't matter if they are sore or aren't sore there still a pain to have especially for us but its normally something minor, like Pneumonia LOL just teasing...after cancer, Pneumonia is a walk in the park....I have had both left and right inquinal hernias ...one when I was 13 and the other side when I was 18...It is amazing how easy they are done now days.
