Chemo before or after bladder removal

Hi, my father has been diagnosed with bladder cancer and the doctor recommended chemo before surgery. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this? I'm just not sure if waiting to have his bladder removed is a good idea. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi, My brother also had Chemo before he had his bladder removed. I was told the smaller the tumor the better. Has your father had his surgery? If so what kind of surgery did he have?

Sorry I am responding so late; I am on the bladder cancer website more often. My father had his bladder removed mid-July; he had the ileal conduit diversion. How is your brother doing?
