Hi everyone:
Has anyone read or heard of coQ10 being helpful in the treatment of cancer? I was reading a article in a health magazine about all the research that has been going on with this and was wondering if it's worth it to try it. The article was in LifeExtension magazine.

    Carol:
I am familiar with COQ10 (have taken it for several years), as well as Life Extension (I consider them a valuable reference). This is another area where just because the FDA has not approved something doesn't mean the subject has no validity. COQ10, naturally occuring in our body, is important for cell function, immunity, and as an anti-oxidant. Obviously, some of us may produce smaller amounts, especially if our body is under duress, and happens also as we age. As always, be sure to research this before it is taken during treatments. I have heard that most antioxidants are best taken after treatment, because some say it may inhibit the purpose of chemo. Having said that, even the National Cancer Society speaks of the value of this nutrient. So, the best of luck to you in your research! And, as always, good health to you, too!

Hi Carol, I have tried it but never noticed a difference, but each of our bodies are different.

I do take a multi vitamin, L-glutamine and L-Lysine every day.

For sure it can't hurt you. Hugs Bonnie

I do too, Bonnie, but I also added Vit. B-6 for the neuropathy.
