Dr. is giving my Mom 400mg Avastin which costs 2600 USD plus 4 20mg Caelyx that cost 860 USD each plus other medication...so it all adds up to around 6,000 USD per chemo.. the thing is my Mom has no insurrance she just spent 1,700 USD for the PET Scan. Yesterday when I found out how much this all is I got sick, I even had diarreah. It would be so sad for her not to die of cancer but of not having the money yo pay for treatment. Any ideas on how to come up with fast money. This is a horrible diseas, which affects you emotionally and physically and add the emotional economic stress.. it is so unfair you know. My Mom is a beatiful 76 year old lady you has been an excellent person in all senses of her life and with all people.. allways helping others, I donñt know why God has thi planned for her. I beg for your prayers.. Liz

    I did alittle research for you and I hope this helps. The maker of Avastin is Genentech, and they have a patient assistance program. Go to GenentechAccessSolutions.com or you can call 1-866-422-2377. Maybe your Mom can get some assisitance in purchasing this drug. Also Caelyx is manufactered by a company called Schering-Plough Corporation. Go to their website maybe you could find a patient assist program there as well.
