I just have to ask this question from those who I know will answer it with no hesitation. What is a tatooed nipple? Exactly how is this done, and who does it? My niece asked me if I knew about it, as her friend was going to have it done, but she hesitated to ask her personal questions. I think it is awesome that this procedure can be done so women can look normal after having gone through so many changes in their bodies. Have a wonderful day sisters!

    Tattooed nipple: not sure WHERE it's done probably a tattoo parlor...
    a tattooist outlines the area where he/she will color it in with permanat ink. I have heard where the ladies get flowers,hearts or something tattooed instead of a image of a nipple..Have fun with it..who's gonna see it besides you,doctors,lover?

    Seriously, it is part of the reconstruction proceedure. This is normally done by the plastic surgeon that is doing the implants. A small section of skin is removed, usually from the underarm or the thigh, I believe, and attached to the center of the 'new' breast area. This is then sculpted, and then tatooed to look like the arelia and the nipple itself. I've seen a pair...they look FAB!!

    This was on an gal who is a nudist. So, she needed this extra touch...lol...It involves a few more proceedures, so it carries a bit more risks than just leaving the 'blank' breast...but, if I faced this, I and my body image would do it....(I only had a lumpectomy, and I admit I am vain).

    I had that procedure done in August. What they do is a skin graft from the thigh are and sew it onto the breast and tatoo the areola. In my case my plastic surgeon didn't believe in tattooing so he took a graft from my private area cause the skin is darker and he said it would look more natural. He was right they do look natural.

    bev I had that done-- plastic surg. took some scar tissue from original mastect to make a nipple and tattooed it while I was asleep. All done same time as final implant. My tattoo faded and nipple flattened out over time, but I don't care. Just glad to be alive

    newboobs, I had my nipples reconstructed, and my plastic surgeon's assistant did the tattooing they looked marvelous. I am an African American and she did a great job. After the tattooing, I was actually able to look at myself. But as you've said, the nipples have flattened somewhat and the tattooing has faded. But let me tell all of you, it gave me such a boost. Like you said newboobs, I am so glad to be alive!!!! I remember when I didn't think being alive was an option for me. 5 year survivor this July. I am a happy camper.
